47 STEM GEMS and Robotics Club Students were awed as they learned about the unlimited possibilities with robotic technology and the importance of being a part of the innovations of tomorrow. Florida International University (FIU) Computing and Information Sciences Professors and Students created an unforgettable workshop of ‘curiosity meets creation’. Varied sizes and functional use robots were brought in for interactive group exploration and individual envisioning of untapped innovations. Launa, a FIU PhD robotics program candidate, is studying the brain and compatible materials for neuroscience robotic applications. Dr. Reis developed a drone to help count oranges in a farmer’s grove. Raahim’s internship with the NFL allowed him to work on Super Bowl LIV with engineers and use robots for infrastructure buildout and operation efficiencies. Students were challenged to reach beyond the walls of the box and to create innovation to move the box
