STEM In Healthcare
38 curious Attucks Middle School students were positively impacted by their experience @ JoeDiMaggio Children’s Hospital Tour and interactive Nursing, Child Life, Radiology/Imaging and Lab stations. Eyes were opened and interest was definitely sparked in career opportunities in healthcare. “STEM is everywhere” became more real. Child Life Program employs clown Lotsy Dotsy to help patients and families feel better. Blending compassion for others with applications of STEM presented a great combination for career consideration. It was very interesting how the “Power of Play” serves an impactful force in healing. Much gratitude was felt by experience organizers of the North Broward County (FL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, the Hispanic Unity 4Teens After School Program and our Foundation.
